I am working really hard to make this site a great place to learn Spanish for beginners.
The best method to start is to learn basic Spanish words is to begin with Spanish Alphabet, and Spanish vowels in order to move forward. If you have ever learned any other language, you know that it is essential to start with the alphabet first.
Naturally learning Spanish pronunciation comes next, once you know the basics of the Spanish alphabet. And don’t forget, you will need to learn the vowels and proper Spanish punctuation, as it does differ quite a bit from the English punctuation. And not to mention phrases, there are tons of Spanish phrases to learn along with Spanish sayings too.
I will even have some Spanish phonetics lessons on here, and some learn Spanish tutorials to help you along your learning Spanish journey.
Here is some food for thought...
The English language is like a bouquet of flowers, plucked from many different roots. One of those roots being Latin, which 2,000 years ago was spread all over Europe by the Romans and later by scholars of the Middle Ages. And as Spanish is also a Latin based language, you can find many correspondences between English and Spanish in the words that come from both Latin and French Roots.
Here are some examples, just for those of you who are curious enough to want to know:
| Spanish word | Pronunciation | English word |
|---|---|---|
| composición | kohm-poh-see-see-ohn | composition |
| conclusión | kohn-kloo-seeohn | conclusion |
| libertad | lee-bvehr-tahd | liberty |
| pronto | prohn-toh | right away; soon |
| soprano | sop-prah-noh | soprano |
Now that you see that you already know some Spanish vocabulary, it's time to really get down to the main reason why you are here and that is to learn Spanish right?
